Perspectivecube every side shows a different structure.

The 15x15 cm cube has been rotated 45 degrees along two different axes. The resulting diagonal axis was used to slice the cube into layers. The start and end points of this axis lead into a pyramid.​An additional cube measuring 14x14 cm was subtracted from the interior, allowing the inner space—and thus the opposite faces of the cube—to become visible.

 

This creates various optical effects from different perspectives: from the dissolution of individual surfaces, to overlapping grid structures, to parallel displacements and even organic forms.
Although the cube might initially appear to be composed of quadrilaterals, it actually consists solely of triangles, pentagons, and hexagons.

 

The individual parts were 3D-printed using black PLA and positioned precisely with 2 mm thick black carbon rods.

To grasp the complexity of the cube, one must observe it from various perspectives.

To understand its structure, one must explore and comprehend its individual layers.

Fortyfive² can also be seen as a symbol of human relationships. In order to truly understand a person in their complexity and depth, one must perceive them from a variety of perspectives and come to understand their inner structure.
